**Lift Safety and Vehicle Lifting (updated) by Robin Coyne

Lifting vehicles is an industry standard in automotive repair facilities worldwide. Putting a vehicle to working height is a procedure that usually precludes an auto repair procedure. In this lesson, the dangers associated with lifting a car are explored. Safety is emphasized and taught at all phases of this lesson to avoid injury or death. Damage to the lifts or vehicles is secondary, but very important to avoid as part of the development of relevant career skills. Knowing what is or is not a safe lift is also important. This is part of the lesson so that students are informed about manufacturing standards and certification in the lift industry.
