This is the fourth lesson in a 4-lesson unit, geared towards teaching students how to use Shape Language and Color Psychology to create a mask with a story inspired by an emotion that they, themselves, keep hidden. At this point students have learned about the use of shapes and colors to create a character or story. They have brainstormed and researched their concept and they drafted a life size design of the final sculpture in 2 views. In this lesson students will learn the technical sculpting skills to execute the sculpture. Focusing on 2 skills: 1. building up the planes of the face and 2. creating believable and intentional textures.
