Students will understand where stress originates as well as common causes and reactions to stress. They will also learn to change their reaction or response to stress.
In this lesson, students will be introduced to the concept of stressors and responders. They will measure their own heart rate while experiencing different levels of stress through watching video clips and playing a game, and see how what might be effective ways of reducing stress. They will then produce a poster to place in classrooms to help other students manage stress in a simple 30-second activity.
