pH and Logarithms (Math)

by

Introduction

This lesson will ideally be taught AFTER the Exponential Functions lesson.

At the end of this lesson students will be able to:

  • understand how pH is a logarithmic scale
  • understand that a logarithm is the inverse of an exponential function
  • understand the definition of a logarithm and how to convert from exponential to logarithmic form
  • be able to calculate pH given concentration of H+ and the reverse
