Run For Your Life...Or Even Walk! (CTE)

In this lesson students will learn how participating in regular physical activity and exercise can have a direct benefit to the health of the human body. This is the second lesson in the Healthy Lifestyle Project (CTE component). At the conclusion of the lesson students will create a 3-4 minute "infomercial" on the benefits of physical activity. This assessment is part of the presentation that students will complete and deliver to local elementary schools.

Introduction

After completing this lesson students will ask themselves: Am I prepared to invest just my time into something that will improve mood, quality of sleep, performance in school; increase strength of muscles, bones, lungs and heart.? Regular physical activity is all it takes!

In this lesson, students will learn how participating in regular physical activity and exercise can have a direct benefit to the health of the human body. This is the second lesson in the Healthy Lifestyle Project (CTE component). There is a Physical Activity IQ quiz given at the start of the lesson. This activity typically gets students talking and discussing fitness and physical activity. At the conclusion of the lesson students will create a 3-4 minute "infomercial" on the benefits of physical activity. This assessment is part of the presentation that students will complete and deliver to local elementary schools.
