## Super Size Me (Math)

### Introduction

Understanding scale factor, ratios, congruence, and similar figures.

Students will explore the mathematical methods used to create a mural. Students will reproduce their Picturing Social Justice Image using one of the explored methods. If possible, students will create a mural using their sample mathematical plans. The mathematicals objectives in this lesson include scale factor, ratios, similar figures, and graphing. Geogebra (geogebra.org a free open source software) will be utilized as a construction tool in the exploration of these objectives.

Note-In all parts of this lesson, students are working in groups. I suggest you make the best decision on assigning students to groups of 3-4. I personally use random selection and my class groups change after each project. This encourages students to get to know each other and work together with different learning styles.

Continually assess students as they progress through the lesson using questioning strategies.
