Sports today is big business with a loyal fan base who follow their favorite teams through a multitude of media channels, websites and programs. What impact does brand identities have for cities with professional sport teams? Professional sports makes a major impact a city’s economic potential and the team branding affects the identity and civic pride of its communities and residents. Branding is key to establishing an identity, creating a fan base, and generating a substantial income. Without solid branding, many teams would fail to rally the support they need to succeed.
